You're paying way too much for a device that will likely fail within 2-3 years, it's just not worth it. Customer support is basically nonexistent. After waiting an entire month, they finally told me what I had already discovered on Reddit: your precious "Alien" is dead. The company behind them? Ubiquiti. Honestly, a $40 TP-Link router performs just as well - if not better. So why spend 10 times more on something destined to fail? And if it's out of warranty? You're out of luck.

On android this app is just for show, setting up things and making it simple an insecure. For Apple, they have put effort into it. Most settings are not available on Android, but fully available on Apple. Fortunately I have both eco systems, if not I would be seriously aggravated. Go for the UniFi line instead, or stay away from the Alien one, cool product, poorly implemented and extremely limited (you cannot buy stand alone mesh points, they are hardwired to each router!).

The AmpliFi hardware is great for residential use, but from an administrative perspective, it's a lacking solution. For example, the app doesn't]6 have an option to disconnect a device. That's about as basic of a feature as you can ask for. But the app does have a pause feature to pause a single device's connection... 🤦♂️. Not even close to being the same thing.
